An Emotional Week of Filming in LA for Equal Means Equal
Wow. Documentaries are important. I was exposed to some really horrible stuff this week. During my time in LA, we did another week of shooting on the equal rights documentary, Equal Means Equal. Most of what we covered this week involved the dark side of female oppression. I heard and saw the kinds of things that one wishes to never think about or be exposed to. After shooting for about 12 hours a day, we would all sit around talking amongst ourselves for 2-4 hours a night to process everything we had just heard. We jokingly called it "group therapy."
This update on the film's Kickstarter page details what kinds of things we shot this week. It's a good and interesting read and better than I could say myself.
The highlight for me was the ride along with the LAPD sex trafficking unit. It was quite exciting and invigorating and super interesting and eye-opening. It was also the first time I made extensive use of GoPro cameras. I found them to be quite nifty.

An Old Spec Commercial with New Life
Years ago I had a blast shooting a Crystal Light spec commercial on the beach in Coney Island with my good friend Anneke Schoneveld.
Now that she is a Big Deal Food Commercial Director, her reps had her re-cut the commercial with new graphics and music, etc. And it was just posted online for the first time, so I am excited to share it.
